Questions
Straight answers, no hedging.
Frames, the list, the Amazon hand-over, and the money questions people find awkward to ask. Anything missing here reaches a person at the address on the about page.
01 Do casters and handles really count inside the frame?+
They do. A gate sizer measures the bag as it stands — casters on the floor, handle folded in place, side pockets as full as you packed them. We put the maker’s figures beside the carrier’s frame, longest edge against longest edge, and the result is printed on the card.
02 How can I tell a bag will clear my carrier?+
Two routes: open your carrier’s page from the guide list, or set the shelf filter to your carrier and slot. Anything that would miss the frame leaves the page, and the badge on each surviving card counts how many of the twenty carriers accept it.
03 What actually happens at the hand-over button?+
Amazon.ca opens in a fresh tab with your picks and quantities sitting in its cart. From that point it is an ordinary Amazon checkout — Amazon takes the payment, the order lives in your Amazon account, and returns travel back through Amazon.
04 Can findatraveler take my money or keep a card on file?+
No to both. There is no checkout here, no account system, and nowhere to type a card number. If a payment form ever claims to be findatraveler, it is an impostor — close it and tell us about it.
05 Where does the list actually live?+
Inside your own browser, on your own device, in its local storage. It never travels to our servers. Clearing site data, or emptying the list from its own page, erases it for good.
06 I started a list on my phone — does it appear on my laptop?+
It does not. A list belongs to one browser on one device and does not follow you across. Hand it over from the device you built it on, or compile it again on the other one — a couple of minutes at most.
07 What decides which items appear on the shelves?+
Amazon rating comes first, review volume second. Then the practical screen: does the item deliver what it claims? For bags, that means its real dimensions clear a genuine gate sizer. A bigger commission has never outranked a better-rated item here.
08 How fresh are the carrier frames?+
The month stamped on each carrier page is when the numbers were last read against what the carrier publishes. Allowances tend to move alongside fares rather than seasons, so set that date beside your booking — and if something looks stale, write in and it gets re-read.
09 Amazon shows a different price than the one here. Which one wins?+
Amazon’s, always. The figure on this site is the price as last spotted, shown so you can compare at a glance. Only the number in Amazon’s cart at checkout binds. Gear like this reprices quickly and often.
10 Is the carrier list only Canadian?+
The twenty on file are the carriers most often flown out of Canada — Air Canada, WestJet, Porter, Flair, Air Transat and their transborder and long-haul partners. The file grows; if your regular carrier is absent, say so and it goes on the list.
11 Who do I talk to about an order?+
Amazon, every time — orders, payments, delivery and returns are all on their side of the counter. For anything about this site itself, the address on the about page reaches a person who replies.
